About Lumyx
We make records that last.
Lumyx is an independent label and recording studio in Brooklyn. We sign a small roster on purpose, so every artist gets a real room, a real engineer and a release plan built around the music, not the algorithm.
Since 2014 we have recorded more than 120 records, from first EPs cut in a single weekend to albums that took a year to get right.
Our story
From a basement live room to a Brooklyn label.
Ava Moreno opened the first Lumyx room in a Gowanus basement with a borrowed console and a handful of microphones. Local bands came for the sound and stayed for the honesty: if a song wasn’t ready, she told them.
In 2019 Malik Johnson joined to turn finished records into releases. Today Lumyx runs two studios on Canal Street, a small label with 38 artists and a live session series filmed in Room A.
